I'm thinking of having a D40x converted to IR only and was wondering if anyone here has done business with LifePixel? If so, hows their work?
Brian

They did a perfect job, in less than a week, even calibrating the autofocus to my preferred lens.

Thanks for the great shots and the info. I have been a little concerned about sending a new camera for this conversion but I feel better about it now. I have played about a little with filters and long exposures, I love the results just don't like the method with a regular camera. One other question, I understand they adjust the auto focus, but is the viewfinder still in focus? I know when I use the filter I have to move my focus ring a little.

Naw, they came to my house and converted it while I watched.

Actually, I sent them the D70 and 18-70 DX lens and it took about a week, total. You can send them a different lens and they will calibrate to that for an extra charge.

Did you ship them your lens too?
