Is there a way to get longer than 30 second exposures unattended?

My D200 only goes to 30 seconds, and I don't see a way to use the interval timer to set the image duration longer than 30 seconds, bracketing doesn't help either as it simply doesn't bracket longer than 30 seconds.

What I really need is images of 2-5 minutes, but not one image which would be easy with bulb, but as many 2-5 minute pictures as possible over a 1-3 hour period.

I have a remote 10 pin release from adidt which has a mode that locks it on and fires the shutter as fast as possible, but even with the interval timer I'm not seeing a way to automate this, and I don't want to be stuck with blub sitting by the camera for hours.

Is there a software solution by connecting the camera to a PC and shooting through say Nikon Capture - does that enable longer images in an interval?

Thanks,
Roland.
