very good lense

Minolta Maxxum AF 50mm f/1.7, 49mm filter

just what you asked after

Vivitar AF Zoom 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6 MC, 52mm filter
Vivitar Variable Closeup Lens +1 ~ +10, 52mm filter

Probably not that good.

The 2 Maxxum lenses will mount and meter properly on the A100,

They will work better than they ever did before. Optically the 28-135mm and 50mm is amazing by todays standards. And they will probably focus alot faster than on his old camera.

With those two alone, I think I'm good to proceed with
purchasing my father the A100 as his 65th birthday present.

If you get a wide angle zoom (from 16mm - 18mm and up) you are all set.

What about the Tamron TC, Vivitar zoon and macro lens? Are those
fully functional on an A100 (assuming it's the proper mount to begin

Yes they are, but not sure about the quality. you'll see.
I'm smoking my α100 shutter to become a high amatuer.
