I pre-ordered mine 3 monts ago... still on the waiting list (with half already paid).

Since then, only one body was shipped to the biggest shop in Quebec city, and many shops are still waiting for their first one...

I keep seeing people buying all around the world and Canon Canada representative are answering that this is a myth... only a couple of bodies where sent to B&H... lol

Is it because Canon just loves Canada and is waiting for the AF problem to be solved? I dought it.

Many people cancelled their order here to buy in the US... I'm about to do the same. And Canon will continue to beleive that nobody's buying their MKIII in Canada...

My 1DIII is superb, except when it isn't. And that's way too often.

I coulda had a V8 -- but I bought a 1D Mark III instead

When I ask which Canon lenses are best,
people tell me to 'go to L.'

They seem to be readily available - I got the impression all of the pro orders were filled the first few days it was available. I had a couple of extras allotted to me, so I passed them on to friends.

On July 23 I noticed that Vistek's web site showed "in stock". I was on a wait list at Downtown Camera in Toronto. I called them an pointed out that there were in stock at Vistek (23rd only - by the next day, special order again). They called and said mine was on it's way and I picked it up Wed July 25, with FW 1.0.9. My theory was that they were waiting for that fw release, even tho it doesn't fix "the big" AF problem.

Up until that point a few had been shipped in late may - Downtown Camera got 1.

I do assume the bigger seller are the first to have it...

I think Quebec City is not a big seller just by itself. I was living in Quebec City. So nothing against it.
