I went from Manfrotto to Gitzo and I can't be happier. It is well built and works perfect in every aspect, IMHO. I agree that the price is hard to justify but I expect the tripod to last for rest of my days and the way my memory serves me, I soon forget what a ridiculous price I paid for it. But that can be said about most of my equipment, LOL....
