Not sure what you're providing an example of, but honestly, that doesn't look very good. It seems to show exactly the problem I described earlier, where you're mapping smaller amplitude input signal (analog) to a fixed bit depth digital output (4096 bits) and getting posterization, etc. Do you have an equivalent photograph that used a higher ISO to amplify the analog prior to digitization?

BTW, what was your EXIF for this shot?
