How do you know he wasn't looking the ball into his glove? (or maybe in the process of blinking)? The amount of time it takes for the ball to reach the bat and then travel into the glove isn't very long. Given his stance, my guess is that the kid catches the vast majority of the pitches thrown to him.
Nice shot. I would have like to see if the catcher would have cought
the ball with his eyes closed.

I'm sure your right about that, he did very well behind the plate. Most of the pictures I take of my wife end up with her eyes are closed even though they appear to be open most of the time :)

I really love kidds baseball, don't stop there get in the dugout and get some great shoys there too.

Here's some of mine. This is what I mean by don't stop there. baseball gives so many chances for showing what happens at the park with a young player and what it's all about. Great shot you did, Fred

Great timing, great shot. About the only way this would have been more perfect would have been for the ball to look distorted with the impact.

This is an example of a shot that probably wouldnt have happened on film. It would have been very expensive since you have to take so many shots to get the perfect one.

I don't always take the extra time to get the non action shots, thx for pointing out that there are some good ones to be had in between the scenes...

Hi Randy,

I accidentally replied to your Lucis question under Unsavory's reply above, I included a link to the picture with normal post processing applied as well.

Think your right about that, even with digital it's tough as the batter in question has to cooperate but putting a good swing together and hitting the ball! In this case my son ripped a triple up the right field line.

Hi Fred,

I have the the photoshop plugin which goes for $169, I think they have a stand alone pro version that goes for a crazy $595, not sure what it does compared to the PS plug-in version... Their site is http://www lucisart com
