Re: Photos: Yellowstone - Teton - References

Check out this great Teton Map for photographers. I used it to get an idea of what and where I wanted to shoot:

I also bought about five books of both parks and used this one the most:

I think a lot depends on what you want to shoot primarily. My initial goal was to focus on waterfalls in Yellowstone and grand scenics in the Tetons. I wasn't as interested in the geysers. But there was so much wildlife in Yellowstone that I couldn't help shooting them as well. It is not often that you see grizzly bears, bison, big horn sheep, mountian goats, coyotes, moose and many more birds and animals roaming around in such abundance. So next time in Yellowstone I will probably rent a 100-400L to go along with my 70-200L for animal shots.

There is wildlife in the Tetons as well, but I saw more in Yellowstone for sure. The best place to see wildlife is in the northern part of Yellowstone near the Lamar Valley, Tower and Canyon. We stayed near Cooke City in the NE corner of the park and had Bison eating grass in our hotel's front yard.
