Just testing the new, wider, dpr :)

Seems that 540px wide is cool now, with no need for clicking to expand.

Canon 5D, Canon 24TS-E on board. The 2nd one is a stitched pano, 4 shots, portrait orientation. 10-stop ND filter used on both shots.

Anyhow, the light and sky was really cool a week ago when I ran my last workshop :)

Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.

Cool variations on one of the most iconic views of the city.

The smooth water is unworldly. It has the effect of making it look like a scene from a fantasy novel.

Both are fabulous. I prefer #2 though. Great call on the ND filter. The water is like silk.

Hi... Just peeking over from the Nikon forums... these are very nice. I can see that that ND filter of your's really helps with daytime pics. I often think of ND filters with waterfalls but never thought of using them for a cityscape. Very nice results! I think I will need to obtain one myself to get some of these results...

I personally take a lot of NYC photos, as this is the city I live in... thanks for sharing these...

May I ask... what was the exif for these photos? Especially in #2... I noticed that the right side seems to be exposed differently than the left. Can you share the settings and exposure?

Am I safe to assume this was around 6:30 or 7pm?

I was actually wrong in my first post - this is not the stitched shot - this is a single exposure :) I have another one that I made that's stiched. Anyhow, this is the original raw file:

you can see that the lighting is darker on the right side - just one of those really weird, sinister skies! I also love the brightness peeking under the bridge.

Here is the shooting location:

(8:52pm NY time)

Thanks!

Andy - Very very nice as always...I especially love the first one. What time was that? Slightly before sunset?

Love your shots. I often photograph in DUMBO at that very site. Just wondering what brand neutral density filter you used and any tips about them you can pass on. Thanks. Carol
