Re: You lug the 200-400VR...Yes! (pics)

Hi!

Believe it or not, I do lug my 200-400VR around more than any other of my lenses!

Here're pictures taken with it, having lugged it up a rocky trail in Zion National Park:

Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/80s f/4.0 at 400.0mm iso200

Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/60s f/4.0 at 400.0mm iso200

And I frequently lug it up mountain slopes in the winter:

To get shots like these:
Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/1600s f/6.3 at 340.0mm iso200

Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/2000s f/5.0 at 220.0mm iso200

And I lug it onto boats:
Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/4000s f/4.0 at 400.0mm iso200

And onto wobbly docks:

To get shots like these:
Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/350s f/5.6 at 340.0mm iso200

Nikon D2h ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/200s f/5.6 at 550.0mm iso200

And, if you carry it around for a casual walk in the park (as I do), you'll be prepared for capturing the unexpected:

So, Yes, I do 'lug' the 200400VR around, more than ANY of my other lenses. It's worth it!

Best Regards,
RB
