choice of color space?

on the diagram below dots represent colors of a landscape image (sky, mountains, trees, grass)

instead of smooth shape in the blue/green region we have truncation of colors.

does it mean sRGB is not enough to represent the colors in the scene? yes, it does.

does it mean sRGB is inadequate for the scene? maybe no. we do not know how the color mapping is implemented in the converter, but it is obvious it is not the best possible.

is the use of AdobeRGB for this scene beneficial? it depends on the printer gamut and on the softproofing skills.
