funny, I just created a slipstreamed XP disk about a half hour ago! I used the instructions on this site; I would have checked out the software that you mentioned.

Also, about defraging, I always defrag after installing all my
apps, or after I install most of my apps if some will get installed
a little later, then I'll defrag again after installing the others.
Sometimes I even defrag after the OS install and Windows Update,
but before the app installs, then, of course after the app
installs. But there's no need to go crazy about it, as long as you
defrag at some point late in the build process, and then defrag
regularly after that -- how often depends on how much adding and
removing of files happens on your computer.
