Why is D200 that much noiser than D80?

That's the equivalent of about EV 2. Not much light. I'm sure there's bound to be some criticism of your "high ISO" photo in that there isn't much range of light in the scene. Those who do not like to shoot Nikon tend to point out Nikon's deficiencies in the shadows for high ISO images. Whatever. I don't even want to think about all of the times I was handicapped with 400 film, wishing for 0.5 to 2.0 stops more.
