Why is D200 that much noiser than D80?

Example D200 at ISO 3200

Shot last night handheld at 1/6 sec because I was too lazy to grab a faster or VR lens. After default DxO settings cleaned up to a useable image. Very satisfactory to my eye for its intended use. There was virtually no light, shot after sunset at 9pm EDST. I had just noticed this new statue in our garden and it would be at least three or four days before I have a chance to shoot it in good light.
