Hi all,
I have a problem with some of the photos I recently shot. These
pictures are about high contrast scenes (cloudy bright sky). Here
follows an example (this is a conversion from raw done to preserve
highlights, ev -0.21):

I then tried to reduce the contrast in the image by using a
contrast mask; unfortunately, even after some w-b tuning, the
resulting colors are quite bad as you can see in the following
picture

I also tried to recover highlights/underexposed zones by using
curves in the raw converter and in the GIMP, but I obtained quite
bad colors anyway.

Do any of you have any suggestion on how to improve the image? I
use the GIMP.

Regards,
Alberto
