Shipping times from UPS B&H to the west coast USA

Just wondering if anyone cares to share real world experience with "ground shipping" via UPS from B&H to the west coast. They say 5-7 business days, and I guess I'm wondering how accurate that estimate is?

Considering buying a lens that I need by June 7th at the latest for a gradutation ceremony and this falls well within that range if I order today or tomorrow, but perhaps I should pay a few more dollars and get quicker delivery? I realize this is a s.m.a.l.l. problem but a few dollars is, after all, a few dollars!

pay the few bucks for faster shipping, I have always found ground shipping to be right at or a little longer then quoted, and you don't want to be without for your event

If you need the lens quickly, check out Amazon.com. They ship most Canon lenses, and you can get it overnight or in three days for a relatively small fee. They also have a convenient return policy, should you need it.

No, I don't work for them. I do shop there often.

Ground shipments have always taken 6 to 7 business days to reach me via UPS. In one case I tracked my package's "ground" progress to Seattle in just a day or two and it sat in their warehouse for several days before they delivered it to my door. I imagine that they had some room on one of their planes so they sent it straight to their Seattle warehouse without delay but didn't deliver it to me the next day because that would mean I'd have received service I didn't pay for. So they sat on it for several days. Sigh.

When I order an expensive camera, I always pay extra for 2 or 3 day delivery. With ground service the package gets beat up more and suffers more punishment and I don't want my delicate camera to take that kind of abuse.

It works pretty much as they say. Depends on when you order as well. Best is mid week and it should arrive midweek no problem.

Even though regular UPS ground should arrive in time, if it were me I'd pay the extra few bucks and go with 2 or 3 day just for peace of mind. Or, get it from Canoga Camera who is in Canoga Park, CA. 2 day regular UPS to me in AZ.

I've found that B&H from New York to California takes right around
7 or 8 calendar days. If I were you and needed it for sure on June 7,
I'd pay for 3-day air, or something like that.

Ordered Sunday, arrived my town Tuesday, but took until Wendsday to get delivered to my door.
