One of my last series with the D50, it's now regulated as my back up since my D80 purchase. These were shot at ISO 800 and 1600 and with just the on board flash. The D50 is a wonderful camera and will be missed.

Yeah I know my son has to learn how to pose LOL, but he hates having his picture taken and only agreed because of the cool location.

The d50 sure served you well! Good luck with your new body. I'm anxious to see your future shots.
Very handsome son. You've got to get more of him smiling!!

can't your son smile?

I mean the "cool angry" pose is cool, but it looks boring after a while if it's the only thing he can do.

you may have well just used photoshop to put him into all those locations.

All these pictures were shot on a full frame DX sensor. Words like 'cropped' and 'crop factor' are used by people who think they need to sound snobby.

I have no time for these people.

Hi Daniel, wonderful photos with the D50 and of your son....,but I have to say that I still don't like the photo of him on the train tracks...it's dangerous and I worry about other kids doing this and not paying attention to when trains might be coming. Makes me nervous.
thanks for sharing and good luck with the D80

Daniel,

I am just going the other way! Took delivery of a D50 today as a backup for my D80! (Got a Nikon reconditioned body for £219.99 inc delivery)

Just read the manual. Only surprise was that there is no control over high ISO NR. I can clearly see the difference IIIa over Ia.

So you may now have the same problem as me. There is no discernable difference in file name between the D50 and D80. I have a fear that I am going accidentally to overwrite a D80 file with an identical D50 shot probably when doing some housekeeping. (It has just occured to me that might account for some missing Oly shots having owned several Oly cams sequentially). Plainly I have set file numbering on both cams to run sequentially 0-9999. I put files for each shoot in a separate directory but sort them in sort directories I keep specially for that purpose. Any thoughts for a simple system to batch renumber with a 5 or an 8 or whatever as a prefix or suffix?

Enjoy your D80!

LOL

it's only dangerous if you're not paying attention. Plus those tracks don't look like they are too busy.

the only reason I don't like that shot is train tracks and bridges seem to be the staple of senior pictures and student pictures, it's cliche.

Nice set Daniel,

Lighting looks good (except that flood light...) and while we are at it, carefull of your kids feet, there are a few that you can see most of his leg, but no feet...just my 2 cents.

I too am interested on your comparison with the D80 and D50.

Great use of the on board flash, Daniel.

How do you find the D80 over the D50? What was you're main reason for stepping up, flash control etc?

Thousands of pre-teens are flocking to railroad tracks across Canada as a direct result of internet sensation Daniel Diaz's photos.

"I just wanted to be cool like Daniel's son," replied one tween wannabe.

Not eveyone is impressed, however.

"Daniel is doing a horrible job raising our children! He should know better!" responded an irate parent, carrying a newborn child, who refused to say more as she was rushing to the liquor store before closing time.

In related news, a photo of a dog licking the face of a young child has sparked outrage across several nations.

"Not all dogs are friendly, some can be quite mean" said one soon to be postal postal worker.

Angry Parents Against Cute Animal Photos Because Not All Animals Are Nice (APACAPBNAAAN) had this to say, "Not all animals are nice, and representing even one animal in a photo as nice sends the wrong message. What happens if a child sees a photo of another child playing happily with a dog? They'll think any stray dog, foaming at the mouth, is just as loveable and kind! Won't someone think of the children?!"

More news for parents that want others to raise their kids at 11:00.

I hope your son didn't do the graffiti which is behind him. I'm doing a campaign in my neighborhood to remove grafitti that teens do, and establish a zero tolerance policy towards teens who do it.

I am not sure if your post to me is trying to say that YOU think I am telling Daniel how to raise his son or what, but that is not the case...I was just stating that I don't like the photo...Many kids (and adults too) do silly things becasue they think that things will never happen to them...

again I am not sure if you were trying to be funny, or make me feel as if I was telling Daniel what to do with his kid. NOt the case...so I just wanted to clear that up...I know it's easy to "read" things into written words or be taken the wrong way, so before I go off, I'd rather ask you the question to clear it up.
Thanks,
Kim K (the dog walker)

Note: I can't log in using the same screen name from at work and at home, so I'm ChemDoc at work and Justo from home. And no, I never rode a short bus . . . I'm just stupid and/or too lazy to figure it out.

Kim, just taking an idea to the extreme. Nothing personal towards you. I'm really much more entertaining in person. I was slightly bored at work. If you're wondering why there's a delay in new drug therapies and thin product pipelines, blame me.

Sorry man, but I dont like the pics. He looks like he needs to be on anti-depressants. Colors look good, but those pictures are depressing. I feel like you are hoping he grows up to be some sort of street thug. Hope thats not the case. I have to agree that the cocked neck pose is lame and way overdone.

cool! I am happy to hear this and glad I checked before I decide to act before I think (like I usually do! LOL!) I just was not sure and did not know if you were really serious. I am pretty new to this forum and have seen some harsh threads at times, so I just did not know...It was kind of funny, but I am happy that I checked...sorry if I seemed too harsh...

That's funny about the chemicals and the brain...well, not really funny, but what you said is funny....thanks for the reply!
cheers!
