D70 + Tokina 12-24 [r10] error
Just bought a Tokina AT-X 124 Pro DX 12-24 mm .
When used on my Nikon D70 it does not allow for shutter speed to
get higher than 1/500 in Aperture Priority mode.
This is due to you using a flash...either your built-in flash or external (sb600 or sb800). The D70 has the highest flash sync of 1/500 whereas other cameras ususally have 1/200 or 1/250.
Also, the camera displays a r10 error on the monitor when the
release is half-pressed.
That r10 means how many shots the buffer can hold. As you continuously take pictures, you should see the r10 number go down. If you reach r0, then you will have to wait for the camera to finish writing the pictures to the compact flash card. In other words, there is NOTHING wrong with your camera. Both of these are normal behavior. Hope that helps!
