I have been blazing away with my D50 for about 8 months, racked up over 16,000 captures and its still running strong. I needed to move up a bit in size and speed so I brought home my D200 today! I haven't had much of a chance to play with it, although my daughter did have soccer practice and I got some great shots! Coupled with my 70-200VR I don't think I'll stop smiling for awhile!!

Look forward to being a part of this great forum! I would have never took the leap if it wasn't for all the great things I have read here!

Cheers!
Scott B.

Welcome aboard. You will find this forum a very fast-paced forum and many people have strong opinions and don't mind telling you.

Also this forum attracts some Canon trolls, though it's been getting nicer lately after some were finally banned. (Thanks, Phil et al)

Again, welcome.

SinisterLighting:

1. Same with me, I just joined up here a few weeks, ago.

2. Congratulations, on getting your D200. It's a great match for your Nikkor 70-200mm VR lens !!

Congrats! I did the same thing 2 weeks ago and took it up to Monterey, California to do the first real test with my beloved 70-200VR. I took lots of photos of mountain bike races, but I am not satisfied with the results. Not the fault of the D200 though, it was me to blame.

Here are some shots, they are mostly focused on the middle of the subjects, i.e chest. Next time I need to use the side sensors more often.

Hi David,

You have lots of great pictures in your gallery! I just looked at your soccer photos in another thread, they are awesome.

Would you share with us your camera settings?
1. Metering mode?
2. Focusing area (Group dynamic?)
3. Did you use different focus sensor other than the default center one?

Thanks.
