Re: copyright priviledges

Hi, Greg. I don't believe that "avuncularity" is a word... at least it isn't listed in any of the dictionaries that I tried. Neither is "avuncular-ness", of course, but that's why I used the hyphen.

P.S. In the context of a photography forum, the redbarron
reposting of your work was likely fair use, IMO (clearly passes
three of the four tests, only failing the third--and the third
hasn't proven to be a deal breaker e.g. Sony Corp. of America v.
Universal City Studios, Inc., 464 U.S. 417) and even if it wasn't
fair use, it certainly isn't actionable in any case as showing
damage or dilution in some way of a publicly posted image on a
photography forum would be unlikely.

OMG, are you a lawyer. Boarded or jailhouse? Either way, I've managed to stay clear of lawyers in real life, and I'm not about to get into a debate with one now. I'm guilty; you win.

So throwing around terms like "copyright holder" and "ban" is pretty petty, IMO. You were right in calling it rude, but the rest of it was just silly.

Just to clarify, I had no problem with RedBarron at all. My comments were direct at Andrew, who characterized any pictures posted as "fair game". I never suggested I'd sue him, just that it was rude and exercising her "fair game" mantra might get him disciplined by the dpr moderators. I actually heard of that happening in the retouching forum. And I a mindeed the copyright holder for those pics, which gives me certain priviledges.
