Glad you liked the kittycat, Kalle. Now as far as glass is concerned, very few lenses can dissolve a background in the manner that the 85/1.4 did in the three people pics... lenses like the 105/2, 135/2, 180/2.8, and 200/2. But if you restrict your photoshoots to good light and the background isn't a concern, you're right... any lens will do.
