My thoughts on the D40 case (CF-DC1)

Just received case and spare d40 battery from Adorama.

Case pics are on-line, but here are my opinions:

-Case is semi-soft so provides 'some' protection, but not excellent (in fact, it is probably the way it is stitched together that provides the most protection )

-D40 fits so snugly that you pull out the camera by pulling on the strap or turning the case upside down (i.e. your fingers won't fit in the case to grab the camera on both sides).

-No strap on the case itself; it relies on the camera strap (there is a little clip-on loop that allows you to keep the case tethered to the camera strap if you want to)

-stitching seems a little slippery (don't know if it's the material or the fact that it's new).

-Inside, with camera inserted there is at most a thumb's width between lens cap and bottom of case.

Overall, a snug fit, almost weightless.

Hope this helps those who are in the market for a case.
