Cleaning Flash Hot Shoe Contacts on a D50

Hi to all. Sorry if this has already been covered, but searching on these forums seems to be broken, yet again.

I have a D50 that has been gingerly treated and used for 18 months, largely with a SB600 Nikon flash. The flash was recently serviced by Nikon after I sent it in because it was both misfiring randomly when I was not pressing the shutter release button and also suffering from a constantly flashing back panel LCD. Nikon fixed the flash and said that the problem with the misfiring is on the camera side and that I should clean my D50's hot shoe contacts.

The flash appears to work very well on my other DSLR, a Nikon D80, but is continuing to misfire on the D50, so Nikon must have been right.

Do any of you know of a simple, safe way for me to clean my D50's hot shoe contacts as opposed to sending it into Nikon for service?

Thanks!
