I totally agree. I decided I wanted an FZ50 on the basis of forum photos - it seemed the best of the best I saw in the Panny forum were from the FZ50, and not low-light shots like I seldom take, but outdoors shots like I normally take. Unfortunately I had just bought a different camera, but the FZ50's pictures kept nagging at me until I sold the other camera and bought the one that made me happy with its sharpness. And I agree Venus III is too aggressive - I can and do shoot RAW when I feel the need, i.e. on those rare occasions I am shooting higher ISO, and avoid the smearing issue of the (over)processing.
