The biggest zoom for A2/A200 A1/D7x

Hi guys I am still trying o successfully use my A2 for Bird photography.

The standard 200mm max zoom simply isnt enough.

My Raynox 2020pro adds x2.2 = 440mm max zoom - which is great quality, and still lets lots of light through, but still not enough zoom.

So I have been trying to stack converters using an old Cullman Video x1.5 lens also. This gives me about 660mm max zoom (lots of vignetting but that doesnt matter for birds.)

BUT... It is still not enough zoom - and the image quality is sufferring abit, plus the light loss is too much. Which means slow shutter speeds = not good for this amount of zoom.

Now I know many have tried alsorts of add on lenses - and there are some good links to tests.

But can anyone just tell me outricght of the biggest USEFULL zoom hat they have achieved. And what did they use.

Many thanks - Adrian

PS. I am not on a pc where I can upload any photos, but will send up a photo of my setup later (this evening).
