Aged shops ... (11 pics S5)

... that remind me of something in my youth or childhood ...

(All were shot in jpg, handheld, with Nikon 18-70mm.)

1. I ate alot here when I was a student ... and it's my son's turn now... (F4.5, 1/40s, ISO 640)

2. My wife loves this, I love this and our kids love this too. (F5, 1/40s, ISO 640)

3. Where I bought flowers for the first time ... on the Valentine's Day 1981 (F4.5, 1/60s, ISO 1250, EV -1/3)

4. Kung Fu and motorcycling – two things I loved but didn't have the chance to try (F5, 1/40s, ISO 1250, EV -1)

5. My mother's favourite bargain shop (F6.3, 1/60s, ISO 100)

6. A wonton noodle shop – I was drawn to the HK style calenders, fan, lighting... (F4.5, 1/40s, ISO 800, EV -2/3)

7. A 50 years old Dai Pai Dong... (F5.6, 1/60s, ISO 640, EV -1/3)

8. They look good and taste good but are hard to find these days. (F6.3, 1/60s, ISO 640, EV -2/3)

9. How much longer can this grocery stand? (F4.5, 1/40s, ISO 640, EV -1/3)

10. When I was a child, I used to enjoy buying these stuff for my mother... (F4.5, 1/60s, ISO 400)

11. My father would always bring us here whenever we had something to celebrate ... but that must be over 30 years ago... (F4.5, 1/40s, ISO 1250, EV -1/3)

Traditional shops and stores like these are vanishing at a striking speed. That's why I've been carrying a photo machine everywhere I go, collecting memorable scenes as many as I could. I'm so glad to have got the S5 recently; its superb low light capability and extended DR are helping me alot ...

More of my recent collections can be seen here (several were taken with the Nikon D80 and Fuji F30):

As always, comments and advice will be much appreciated.

Best regards
Hugo
