Camera supports - why no bipods??

Just a stupid question- I was in the sporting good store and saw the collapsible bipods they sell for shooting guns and it got me to wondering why they sell monopods and tripods for cameras, but no bipods??

As an experiment, I turned my tripod into a bipod by only extending two of the legs and tried a few shots and they turned out fine- more stable than a monopod and for shutter speeds up to a couple of seconds, IMO, they're as good as a tripod..

The only reason I can think of is that there's no significant weight and setup-time savings by going to two legs and for the price of one extra leg, you get a platform that is 100% stable and not much different than a bipod in terms of portability..
