Dslr gone

I have sold my EOS300D and whilst my intention was to upgrade to a Nikon D80 I have gone for an S6500FD. Without going into too much detail I was fed up of carrying so much weight to cover 28-300mm.

My new Fuji is on its way from Amazon and I would welcome some advice on base settings.

I used to leave the EOS on aperture priority, iso 100 and rarely adjusted ev. As this is the same sensor as the F30, is it wise to set it for -1/3 all the time? any other advice would be appreciated.

I am looking forward to showing what can be done without a dslr, used to have an Olympus XA 35mm compact and it produced results that were incredible, suppose the modern equivalent is the F30.
