We're both wrong. Canonette in 1961. ;-)

While it is a fixed lens rangefinder, the Canonette (1961) was shutter-priority autoexposure.

EXEE (1969) and EX Auto (1972) were early shutter-priority AE SLRs using the short-lived EX series lenses. The EX-series lenses were interchangeable front-groups that attached to the permanent rear-group mounted on the camera.

Yes, EF (1973) was the first of Canon's traditional R/FL/FD mount SLRs to have AE (shutter-priority).
