Manually Focusing with D40

This information has been pointed out in an earlier thread but may have been lost in the shuffle. See page 28 of the D40 manual under heading of "The Electronic Range Finder". With most non AF-S lenses, they will meter properly and all you have to do is half press the shutter release button, rotate the lens focus ring until the in-focus indicator is displayed then shoot away. I took the below with the 50 1/8 just for demonstration purposes and is right out of the camera, resized only.
