Wildlife Photographer of the Year (uk)

Hi,

Just a heads up about the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition on now in the natural history museum in London. Some excellent images (check out the penguins, you'll know them when you see them..) but also plently of techy info for the pixel peepers. Demonstrates the state of the art printing (on to back lit transparencies) of 6 to 12 MP files nicely.

And is there a difference between 12mp and 6mp? well, yes, I could see it. What 's really interesting though is the number of D70s 's D70's, 300D's etc used. The 'big guns' weigh in too though.

And print quality wise (sharpness / detail) , the best shot was.....

....6x7 MF scan. Oh well, another year digital doesn't quite make it 'as good as MF'. I've been three years in a row and it gets closer every year though.... (the 'worst' was 35mm scan).

Jo
