I don't think I would approach catalog work at an hourly rate to begin with. We charge by the shot for photography and a per picture fee for clipping paths and cmyk conversions. We probably shoot 4-500 individual pieces of furniture and 60-75 sets per year. Not one client is billed at an hourly rate, all are by the shot rate. As far as the one client bringing in 4/5 pieces in weekly or so...have a set-up in the corner just for them or document your set-up so it is repeatable...cam height, postion of the lights and the modifiers and intensity of each one.
