Just out of curiosity, did he imply that you were affected or does he just mass email people to see if he can rake in some money?

I've read the patent and to me it appears ludicrous to say that uploading pictures to a server for sales purposes is even remotely the result of an original, creative thought -- let alone being patentable. But I don't think I understand what he is asserting is "licensable".

Heck, I could start selling licenses letting people enjoy a sunny day, and I guess if people are willing to pay it then that's capitalism.

Does anyone have information on what the heck this really affects? If I take a few shots of my youth group playing basketball and let parents view them online am I in this guy's target sites?

If so then I guess the idea of America being a free country have faded. It seems we're on the cusp of being subjugated by poorly written laws and money seeking corporations.
