Banding?

HY guys. I need to know if these imagens have banding.
These shoots were taken wiht my new d200 at iso 1000.

Fantastic! How I've missed the banding posts. I thought all serious light bulb photograhers had moved to Canon;-)
I can't see any. Looks like you got a good one.

Because these were the types of photos (high IOS, severe high-contrast) where you could easliy see the banding problems in the early D200 - thats why.

I don't see any. But anyway, it mostly showed up at ISO 400, not ISO 1000.

Your images don't show banding. However, here is an example from my D200 of short banding which I believe Nikon would call 'acceptable'. It's the horizontal lines coming from the candle flame that is what we call banding.

This is called long-banding:

Note the vertical stripes:

This is also banding. Stripes are horizontal because the picture was shot in portrait mode. Banding stripes are only vertical when the picture was shot in landscape mode:

THe body that was used for the banding samples was one of the first batch.

I recently bought a second body and it has absolutely no banding.

Why? Do you really take pictures of light bulbs for a living? You have no banding in those images. I have yet to see anything close to banding in my D200 and I take pictures almost every day.

I may be wrong, but to me it looks like detail from the lamp shade. Either way it looks as though that particular camera has a great sensor!
