Watercolor look in PS, please help!!!!

Thank you Cassandra. I wasn't sure "how" to use this tool... i figured it out :) still learning PS., its not an easy thing to learn :) Jennie
Use the paintbrush tool, select the smallest brush, set color to
white and dab it where the highlights used to be in the original
image. If necessary, adjust the opacity and/or brush size as
necessary.

Hope this helps. ;)
Cassandra
That's what I've been meaning to ask...
How do you do that to the eyes??? add highlights??? Please let me
know :) thanks, Jennie
Simple ... use a very tiny soft brush ... color white ... and place
a highlight in the correct location in relation to the direction of
the light in each eye. Cheers ... :-)

SO OVERWHELMING! I know i sound like an idiot when someone tells me something, and i really have "no clue" how to do this. I learn much better "hands on" when someone is actually here showing me. Ya know? Thanks, Im learning as fast as i can ;)

Cassandra

Jennie,

A good Photoshop beginners book might help you familiarize yourself with the program. Just make sure you don't get one for advanced users! ;)

Jennie,

A good Photoshop beginners book might help you familiarize
yourself with the program.
I second that, Jennie! You really need a book that allows you to understand the terminology ... duplicate, layer, clone, mask, Lab Color, etc. It's like learning another language. A good book for you would be "Sams Teach Yourself Adobe PhotoShop 6 in 24 Hours" ... about $20.00 at Barnes and Noble ... or order it online at ... http://www.barnesandnoble.com ...

By the way, Jen ... the original of the "Baby Watercolor" is on PBase waiting for you to download. Cheers ... :-)

Poster, thanks for mentioning that (book). I couldn't think of any good ones off the top of my head!

Hi,

Inspired by this forum I have tried to make my first two watercolours. I followed the "recipe" in Very Usful Pages and I think it was great fun. I think it worked better on flowers than on people though. What do you think?

Your images are lovely Eva! They turned out better than most digital watercolor effects I have tried. Could you tell me where you found the "recipe" to create them?

Thank you Cassandra for your kind words. As I said I only followed the receipe somewhere in this thread. The address is:
http://www.reallyusefulpage.com/techniques/pen-ink.htm .

On these first two I followed the receipe exactly, but when I tried to make a watercolor of one of my mushroom-pictures they didn't look so tasty in lilac/pink. So I tried some other settings under step 7, Hue/Saturation and this is how the pic turned out. I also feathered the picture as you can see.
This is soooo fun. I love Photoshop!!!!

Eva

Eva, that turned out sooo cool! :)

Glad your having fun w/PS. I am too. Just got version 6.0 a few days ago and it is AMAZING! Have you done any on people yet?

I took the art history brush at the smallest soft sided brush and coverd the pic. Then I took and dry brushed it, in filters. then I textureized it with canvas. Then I went over the important details with the history brush at 50% opacy. hen I repeat to use the art history brush and thr history brush till I liked what I saw.--dogcrazyD 400 ZOOMpbase.com/dogcrazy http://www.pbase.com/dogcrazy
