This is a bronze plate (part of a larger photo) and I would like to bring out the design. Can anyone help me with this? I really would appreciate any help you can give me.

Probably a little late ... sorry.

Actually I first tried the shadow/highlight tool which was a good start. But finally started from scratch and just added a duplicated background and changed the blend mode to screen. Then duped this several time, added a curve layer for more contrast, sharpened twice (contrast & sharpness). Not sure what else I did. Kind of work spaced out when I get image processing. 8^) This captures the essence though.

Actually there are many ways to approach this as the other posters have shown. Hope one of the results help you out.
