Let me clarify; of course, you set up the model in a general setting (Standing, sitting, leaning, crouched, whatever) and then set up the lighting for that situation, and give the model a general idea of which direction to turn, etc. but I am not ready to shoot until the model is relaxed and moving on her own within the limits of the situation. I never "pose" and then say "Hold it". Nothing is worse. I capture the expressions when they occur naturally. And clients do not care how you get the final product as long as you get it. The issue of taking someone's money and then thinking you have to be able to tell someone how to pose in order to earn it is out of line with my thinking. All the client cares about is the finished product.
