pushing film

Back in the film days I would crank the ASA dial higher to get the 'benefit' of faking the meter to shoot faster (exp comp). Then we would 'push' it in the darkroom.

When shooting digital and underexposing to gain a higher speed I just call it underexposing. For me 'pushing' is a darkroom fucntion. I think in the digital realm it's just underexposing.

Sound like symantics or 'those that know film vs those that know digital'. It's all photography.
