When the new updated ACR for the 400D is released it will be interesting to compare the three converters.

With the 350D I found ACR to be much better at giving accurate skin tones and only rarely used the Canon products. My favourite converter was RSE but that will no longer be upgraded.

I always avoid tripods and use the 70-200 and 400mm handheld. This is why I prefer the lighter 400D over the 30D. From memory the 70-200 is lighter than the 100-400mm.
