Re: Focus- speed/accuracy?

Gerry, I really appreciate your kind comments.

The most noticeable differences I have noticed are:

I can now use the 1.4x TC with the 400mm without the lens oscillating before locking on. It is a huge improvement.

The 70-200mm F2.8 often appeared to back focus when focused on a small object. It is now spot on everytime.

I don't know if the lenses AF faster with the 400D because it is hard to measure, however they are so fast to lock on that it is not an issue.

Jovo, really great pics! Currently I have an XT and am considering
upgrading to a 30D. The specific reason for the 30D as compared to
the XTi is the viewfinder. Having to wear glasses I find the VF on
the 350D that I currently have to be more difficult to use than it
should be. I went over to CC the other day and looked thru the VF
on the 30d and the XTi. The 30d is so much nicer! But I digress
here- back to my posted question- I know that you are using L glass
but have you noticed any improvement overall on the XTi as far as
the focus speed/accuracy compared to the 350d (XT)? Thanks, Gerry
