Thanks for your comments, Phil. I have only tried a few indoor images with flash, and DPP has never been my choice of converter when it comes to skin tones. Hopefully an ACR update will be released soon.

I agree with your assessment of the kit lens. Although I found it to be capable of good quality when stopped down on the 350D, to get the most out of the 400D it demands a very good lens.

Sounds like you are enjoying the 400D as much as I am! Sorry to hear you are missing Perth - perhaps we can do a swap for a few weeks. LOL.
