http://www.mydiscountdigital.com is offering 20X CF cards 256 for $119 and 512 for $264 - shipping is free on orders over $200 - almost sounds too good to be true - I heard about it here. Does any one have any experience with this site - I talked to the owner on the phone - he seemms rather nice - says it's a brans called ri-tech or something - but I've never heard of it.

Does anyone know the website of the manufacturer. It is apparently faster than Lexar 16X and hal the price.

Greg Look into the hardware reviews that Phil has done here at DPReview on CF cards. The ridata card is a good card and it is a little faster than most but the 20x is overrated. I don't own one but you can find many here who do. Do a search on this forum and read the posts for yourself.--Kevin

Yes, it's been discussed several times on the storage and media forum. As I recall the memory is really that fast. The company is Ritek. I believe the site actually compares the speeds of various CF cards.

Hi

I've got a 512meg Ritek card in my 995. It appears to work fine,
but I haven't really given it a pasting yet.

Thanks, John

Look into that one further, It may be a 4x or 8x card

These cards have been available from them for a long time. It's gotten excellent reviews from other forum posters. It's the same as the Ridata cards reviewed on this site.

A better deal is the Kingston 256mb card from Dell for $80 after rebate. Don't pay too much attention to the 16x or 20x difference. It's a measurement of the transfer rate. Your camera is the actual bottleneck so you won't see the difference.

I bought 4 128mb Ritek cards from Matt @ mydigitaldiscounts & a 128mb RiData card from Vasa @ powerinnumbers. I fine the cards great in my cp995. Actually, they are the same in speed. I ordered first from Vasa, but it took longer to get here to Bermuda(no fault of Vasa. It was during holiday time & he used Aussi post which went to the UK first. Now we have the option of using FedX) He responded to my email promptly, service was great! Matt, of course being in the US, had my order shipped via FedX. It got here within......24hrs!!!!! No pun towards Vasa, I need my CF's fast!! I also got a combo card reader(CF 1&2,SM & MicroDrive reader)from Matt. No problems at all!!

As said by Kha above, RiTek is the parent company. You cant go wrong with either.

Ridata is on the comparo list by Phil. The cards and prices are valid and great per my experience. I ordered in December and immediately received a 512, 256, and 128. They work very well.
