We see dog threads and cat threads. This is a pet bird thread. (Come on Randy, I know you've got some down there!) This is Flicker, my cockatiel.

She has quite an intelligent look, hasn't she? But she isn't much for playing games and tricks, and doesn't talk. She just like to cuddle. She laid her first eggs this spring, though there was no daddy, so they weren't fertile. We all joked about omlettes for a couple of weeks, before she gave them up.

Such beautiful colors in your macaw, and great character in your grey's face. Nice pictures. Thanks.

They belong to my Father in Law and he did find 2 eggs a while back.
He no longer owns them due to his lung condition.

My husband runs a Veterinary Clinic here in Rockhampton, and we had this bird in recently after it had a close encounter with a car. It's called a Superb Fruit Dove and is unique to the north-eastern coast of Australia. Here it is with Bri, one of the vet nurses, who took a special liking to him:

And for a closer look:

Great pictures and colors, but the third photograph shows the abstract Boheh that I am experiencing with my new 18-200 Nikon lens. What lens did you use?

Apologies, should have mentioned that I was responding to TerryL post.

Bob.

Bob: Used the Sigma 70~200 APO HSM [not the newer macro]. Most of the time at the 200mm end of the range. The overcast, wintery conditions here in the Antipodes the past week or so help to get the attractive bokeh.

The first pic of the Rainbow Lorikeet was taken against an overall greyish sky giving the etched look.

.. a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo, called 'Taffy'.

Looking somewhat grubby and in need of a bath:

Freshly bathed:

Flying:

Poor Taffy is very often the subject of my lens and flash testing.
