Shootsmarter.com has a "smarticle" from intensive testing ... of both CRT and LCD monitors.

Any monitor has to be capable of being profiled with a good "spyder" software setup and of course, have the "width" of color and lightness range to make a good on-screen image possible. Some do better, some worse, price is sort of involved (especially still in the LCD side of things).

Check it out ... you don't pay anything for their site, but you do need to establish an email-based username-password to logon.

They show their procedures, explain the whys and wherefores, and give a well-filled out and documented table of the results.
