new review of K100D + DA 21

Being design until recently a little man than the machine, there is an impression which has become a little boorish, there is an atmosphere which is close to 10 Mega ordinary machines which are released with PMA

You've gotta be kidding me...

Oh, how I love love love reading bad translations of anything from Japanese to English. Too classic.

So the combination is one, two, three, four, five. That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life.
That's the kinda thing an idiot would have on his luggage.

What's the combination?
12345.
12345? That's amazing! I have the same combination on my luggage!

Thanks for the heads up.

The review is pretty much as expected. Asides from the SR, one big thing that seems to be different is the low-pass filter. From the babelfish translation:

"If it judges from the picture, setting of the low-pass filter has become a little weakening, you are moved by the picture making which seriously considered the resolution impression. Of course, when by the fact that the low-pass filter is weakened, false color occurs in detail, looks a little ill-tempered well enough is also a case which becomes matter of concern. Simply, one technique because the description where the resolution impression is high as much as possible even in 600 ten thousand pixels CCD is actualized (dividing) as it is the feeling which has succeeded. When the color tone you compare to the default setting of the time before, there is an impression which settles a little and can have good impression."

I do notice some CA in that full-size image from the DA21, but I suppose given the conditions that's to be expected.

I also just realized that I possess magic CA-correcting glasses! I always knew my glasses had pretty intense CA anywhere outside of center, but I wasn't aware I could use it to cancel out existing CA in images. :)

Yes, there are some moire effects visible in several places in the picture of the ship. Let's see how this turns out in daily practice..

That's the downside of a weaker AA filter and probably the result of all the people complaining about soft jpgs ;)

OTOH Silypix is rather famous for reducing or even eliminating moire completely (that's why lots of people with a Kodak 14n - a camera w/o AA filter - use it). And since Pentax is now using the Silypix engine in their RAW conversion software there shouldn't be at least any problems for people shooting in RAW.

But IMHO that's not correct because the raw output is not considered soft while using that same AA filter, it seems to be more a matter of raw-to-jpg conversion software quality..

and all this time I thought it was by high-school students of English.

I do not understand a single thing in this translation.
What is a low pass filter anyway...

But despite me mot understanding, I get the feeling that this might be helpfull for reviewers to give the "recommended", instead of "highly recommended" verdict... And that most of us won't notice anything....
