B&W vs Hoya Filter-- Pls Help

hey guys,

I currently have 3 B&W MRC filter for the 24-70mm, 70-200mm, & 50mm 1.4 Canon lenses. I think i'm going to be buying the 16-35mm 2.8 lens but I need to by a filter for it.

Since it's an ultra wide lens, I have to get the "slim" filter. Anyhow, I was looking at prices & noticed:

B+W 77mm UV Haze 010 (MRC) Multi-Resistant Coating Glass Filter Slim cost: $ 112.95

Hoya 77mm UV(0) Haze (HMC) Multi-Coated Glass Filter - Ultra Thin
cost: $ 52.50

There's a $60.45 difference! Obviously I want the best quality & don't want to ruin a good lens by putting a cheap filter on it. But I see alot of pros using the Hoya filters. Is there a big difference between this two filters?

Can anyone recommend me a good filter? I've been going with B+W because they are high qulity, but are Hoya filters good too?

Thanks in advance
