What!? Junkyard engagement photos...

It's simple, for all of these shots I did this:

17-40: Any photos taken within ten feet of my subject, that show a wide or more-wide angle of view.

50 1.4: Photos taken within five five feet of my subject that show about half of their bodies.

100 2.8: Photos that show mostly head and shoulders with lots of focal blur.

My lens choice is mostly relative to what allows me to be closest to my subject while having the ability to strongly blur the background if necessary. I like to work colse and talk to whoever is shooting. I pretty much carry on a conversation. If I want certain expressions, I direct our conversation onto subjects that will probably illicit their expressions. This works well because I want happy, loving shots. If I needed sad expressions I probably couldn't get away with asking probing questions about family deaths or anything to touchy. Good thing these are engagement photos!

My 24-70 2.8 L should come on Tuesday, and that will probably mean a lot less lens changes, although I love that 50mm.
