Matrix metering surprise
I recently replaced my D70 with a D200. I was reading the D200 manual and came across the following sentence on p.61: "Matrix metering will not produce desired results with autoexposure lock or exposure compensation, but is recommended in most other situations." Is this really saying what it sounds like?
Presumably matrix metering works the same in the D70 and D200. The D70 default settings produced images that were too underexposed for me, so I regularly dialed in +0.7EV. Does this mean that I wasn't actually getting matrix metering all along, and that I'll need to take this limitation into account with the D200?
