Denis, Brian, is this the bolt that broke on your tripod?

I also have a Giottos tripod (G2220) and came across this thread today. Denis, after reading of your mishap, I opened my tripod up and looked at the center bolt. Here is what mine looks like.

Is this the same bolt you had trouble with? I use a fairly heavy Giottos MH-3000 ballhead on mine and the 7D with the grip, and frankly, never gave a thought about the strength of the center bolt until reading this thread. After looking at this bolt, I'm confident with it, but wanted to know if it looked like the one that broke on yours. The 1/4" rides thread free deep in the center column after screwing in the 3/8" bolt to the column because my column and head are only threaded for the 3/8" size. Apparently, the bolt can be reversed to have the 1/4" thread upward to mate with a head, but the 1/4" looks awfully inadequate for any kind of load. Just curious if this is the one that you had issues with.
Regards, Jim
