Macro's with FZ5

Beautiful shots, Heather! Are they with the fz5 alone or with a
macro lens attached? I particularly like #2 but they are all
wonderful. Looks like you're having a great spring in the UK!

Fred, they are with the FZ5 only, no attachments. I don't want to start having to carry extra things around as I take the FZ5 with me everywhere!
Thank you for your nice comments!

These really are outstanding Heather. Did you use any auxiliary macro lens? Mighty fine series. Thanks for posting!

I am just getting to know my FZ5. I have noticed that since the macro is on the dial that the exposure is completely automatic and I have not control. Am I correct? I am getting good macros, just wish I had some say so on the settings. Thanks

Model: DMC-FZ5
Width: 2048 pixels
Height: 1536 pixels
Focal Length: 72.0mm
F-Number: F/4
Exposure Time: 0.008 sec. 1/125
Metering Mode: Spot
Exposure Program: Auto bracket
ISO Speed: 200
Flash Mode: Off

That's one of the advantages of the close-up lens. With a close-up lens attached you do not need to be in macro mode. I usually use A priority and set the aperture to f8 (if the light is good enough) for greatest dof. You do have some exposure control in macro mode with ev compensation, but not much.

Please don't ask me if you are correct, I only started doing this after Christmas as a new hobby, after I lost my husband, I am only learning like you, I never use extra lens as I don't wont to carry extra things around with me. I always have it set on 2560 picture size, and have never used auto bracket. You can set the exposure on macro by pressing the w/b button on the back of the camera. I hope this helps.

You only need macro mode for macro at full zoom

All the other modes go just as close at wide angle

They're reallly lovely Heather...I think number two is my favourite as well...but only by a smidge!

Interesting equipment: Panasonic FZ5 and Kyocera M410R

Did you have the Kyocera first. I am not familar with it. How many MP go with the 10x zoom. Looks like there would be some overlap. Did you upgrade to the FZ5?
Great px by the way.
